Ambassadors For Christ



			May Letter Dear Friend of AFC, Last weekend, I went to Paradise to attend a planning meeting of Chinese Mission '98. This is where the AFC-USA headquater is located, adjacent to a pot of land donated by the late Christina Tsai ("The Queen of Dark Chamber"). Rev. David Chow also showed me a replica of the dark chamber full of artifacts of Miss Tsai, and pointed to me a chair upon which visitors to Christina often sat and being ministered to and many had accepted Christ through her witness. Being a witness for Christ is the motivation of many brothers and sisters joining the Missions Across the Miles. So far, we have more than 70 participants in this AFC summer short-term mission this year. Please pray for the preparation and equipping of these teams, as well as the hearts of the people to be visited. Also, we have received more than 16 teams applied for our AFC Soccer League which has the objective of outreaching to unchurched youth through sports, please pray for the witness of Christians in these activities. In the midst of all the planning and preparation for the summer events, the weekend of May 23-24 stands out in my mind -- it is the time when we celebrate AFC's 25th Anniversary: May 23 (Friday 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.) -- The AFC 25th Anniversary Banquet I hope you can find time to come to celebrate with us in this special AFC 25th Anniversary Banquet at the Sheraton Hotel Toronto East (Kennedy/401). The cost of the dinner is $30 per person. Please call AFC office staff Janet at (416)494-7171 to order you Banquet ticket (with table number on it) before May 16 in order to reserve your seat. May 24 (Saturday 1:30 - 5:30 p.m.) -- "Beyond McJobs" This is a conference on career for the New Generation. I hope you and the young people you love may benefit from this seminar which features many Christian professionals from across the country. Please call for a registrationform if you don't have one and fax in any registration to (416)494-9926 as soon as possible. I am thankful for the good turn-out at the Inter-Generation Dialogue on April 5, more than 200 parents and teens came and many felt it was a good start. I pray that AFC would continue to seek ways to serve today's young people in more creative ways. In regard to staff team, we have a new bookhouse manager Mr. Steven Ng coming to join us on May 15, while Mrs. Virginia Lau will leave her post at the end of May to prepare to study at OTS. Please pray for both of them in this time of transition.
