This is it, my friends. Here, the true identity of Marina Liteyearz (the site creator) is revealed! Everything you didn't want to know about me but I chose to tell you anyway (that is, before I kill you ^_~), the deal with me and Ross and the making of this Website and other shameless plugs of mine can be found here, in the About Me section of Ross' Gold.

dummy plug Hi, everyone. Let's begin by saying that Marina Liteyearz isn't really my real name, just some demented handle that I've made up; my real name is Peggy Wong. I'm an 18 years old in Toronto currently studying OAC at a semestered school (OAC Physics - absolute HELL!!!! >_<).

When I'm off homework, I'm usually doing stuff that I'm addicted to—playing on the computer (especially Internet and HTML), listening to music, reading, drawing, watching TV and eating. As for sports, I like swimming and general fitness. I've tried snowboarding once this year and plan to go for it again next season :)! I'm right-handed, but I would probably ride goofy.....weird, ne?

My strong points......probably (probably's the keyword) creativity. A major weakness is that I often get so stoked on something that I forgot other stuff. You've got to have some balance in your life; do you agree?

You can find an index of all my pages on the Liteyearz Productionz Webpage List.

dummy plug How did I become caught up with the Ross Rebagliati whirlwind, you ask? Well, I can probably divide my obsession with Ross into three phases. Here goes:

  • Phase 1: When Ross was stripped of his medal due to a positive marijuana test, I was devastated. Ross has to hand back the medal he'd won fair and square, while other medalists testing positive for stimulants can get away scot-free? No fair! :< I also believed his second-hand smoke defence—there's a lot of that stuff in his hometown of Whistler. When I turned on my radio to hear that Ross got his medal back, I thought: "Justice is served." 8-) Such was the "Sympathy" phase of my Ross obsession.

  • Phase 2: I looked at the first picture of Ross that I've downloaded for a while, then thought: "Ross. Now he's something!" His blond hair, blue eyes and high cheekbones are simply killer. What can I do but download even more articles and pics? Such was the "Crush" phase of my Ross obsession.

  • Phase 3: I watched Ross speak at his Nagano press conference with great interest. When asked by reporters his opinion about kids using drugs, Ross said: "My message to the kids is that you have to live with the things you do, and that there are consequences." instead of some generic anti-drug ad that others would like him to do. Now that impressed me. Willingness to admit mistakes, willingness to change—now there's a quality that I thought was long-extinct. Ross' handling of the Nagano ordeal proved me wrong big-time. He had allowed himself to be exploited once, but never again. Later, I was even impressed by Ross' sense of humour and friendliness when I saw him on Jay Leno, and when I met him at one of his Toronto appearances. Such was the......dang, I can't really give the "Third" phase a name, but whatever. ^-~
  • Ross may have strutted out of one burden......
    ......but wait 'til he gets a load of this one - ME! ;-)

    dummy plug Initially, when I visited all the Ross sites on the Internet, I've never dreamed of creating my own. After all, I don't want to be a "been there, done that" by posting info that the other sites have. My love for Ross ultimately took over, however, and that's how I got around to creating Ross' Gold! Today (April 18, 1999) I've finished the new layout to Ross' Gold; below are pictures of the site before and after the makeover. It looks cleaner in the "after" picture, doesn't it?

    I enjoyed making the new layout for Ross' Gold; it's cleaner and has a high tech feel. The downside, however, is that I get dizzy looking at the HTML code all the time.
    Banging at the keyboard in frustration
    KAPUT! goes all my work - and it ain't even the IOC's fault! ;_;

    dummy plug Finally, something I'd like to note, even if it's completely unrelated to Ross:
    I saw this item in the Canadian edition of an Electronic Boutique catalogue (which I've picked up in the mall). It showed this check-generating software called "mips VersaCheck PRO", and the label said: "Not Available in Canada". And this is from the Canadian edition of the catalogue!—hey, this isn't my fault; I did watch Ross on Jay Leno, so I picked up some of his Headlines. =:) (*punk head look*)
