A Friend

The stars, the moon
The rolling waves
The sandy shore
The breakers roar
The breeze through the trees
Faintly rustling leaves
The warmth of the air
can hardly compare
with the depth of your soul
the kindness you share
Your eyes aglow with compassion bright
The smile on your lips
oh! such a lovely delight

That's Life

I've fought lifes battles
through the years
experienced sorrows
defeats and fears
My spirit is weary
My back is bowed
The load is heavy
along life's road
